WATCH ORDER
Transformers Watch Order (All 7 Films, 2026)
Transformers · Updated Sep 15, 2026
The Transformers film series splits into two loosely-connected chunks: the Bay-directed pentalogy (2007–2017, one continuous continuity following Sam Witwicky then Cade Yeager) and a newer prequel/reboot line (Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts) that softly reboots the tone and timeline while keeping the same universe. Chronological (in-story) order and release order diverge here — Bumblebee is set in 1987, decades before the first Bay film, and Rise of the Beasts is set in 1994. The list below is release order, which is also the easiest way to watch since each film was made assuming you'd seen the ones before it.

Where to start if you only have a weekend
Skip straight to Bumblebee (2018) — it's the best-reviewed film in the franchise, works as a standalone origin story, and doesn't require any of the Bay films to make sense. Rise of the Beasts continues directly from it if you want to keep going.
In-story chronological order (optional)
If you'd rather watch by when events happen in-universe: Bumblebee (1987) → Rise of the Beasts (1994) → the five Bay films (2007–2017, present day).
