Madagascar Watch Order (All 4 Films, 2026)

Madagascar · Updated Sep 16, 2026

The simplest entry in this series of guides: three core films plus one spinoff, no reboots, no timeline branches, no TBA fourth film to worry about. Release order and story order are the same order.

Watch order

1.
Madagascar (2005) — TMDB 953
2.
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008) — TMDB 10527
3.
Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012) — TMDB 80321
4.
Penguins of Madagascar (2014) — TMDB 270946 — spinoff following the penguin crew's own mission; set loosely alongside/after the third film, works fine watched last

Where to start if you only have a weekend

Just watch the three core films in release order, then Penguins of Madagascar if the kids want more — it's a fun capper but skippable without losing any of the main story.
