Two linked series: the main Despicable Me line follows Gru as an adult supervillain-turned-dad, while the Minions prequels jump decades earlier to before he adopted the girls. Release order below is what we recommend — it's how the studio built the reveals — but the Minions films are chronologically earliest if you want the in-universe order instead (Minions' 1968 setting, then Minions: The Rise of Gru's 1976 setting, then Despicable Me onward).
